🩺 Protecting Vision in Diabetes

At Mwangaza Wellness and Medical Centre, in partnership with City Eye, we provide FREE Eye Screening during this Diabetic Campaign (June 21 – November 14, 2025). FREE Eye Clinic every first Wednesday of the month.

Why Eye Screening Matters for Diabetic Patients

Many people living with diabetes are unaware of the silent complications affecting their eyesight — including diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and cataracts. These conditions often develop without early symptoms, and by the time vision is affected, the damage can be irreversible.

Sadly, we continue to have diabetic patients who have been on treatment for years, only to discover they are developing cataracts or advanced eye damage. In most cases, timely eye screening could have prevented this. 90% of blindness due to diabetes is preventable.

Diabetic patients should have their eyes examined at the time of diagnosis, and regularly thereafter.
